The ornament began its era with the use of stone and with the development of the technologies, styles and fashions, gold, silver, woods have joined in the lists of the raw materials for an ornament. In some rituals, people make wire loops around the hole by passing through it. Apart from the style-talking side of ear gauging, another thing is that, while piercing, care must be taken i.e. piercing must be done slowly. Because, a fast process can cause damage to the ear and infect the pierced portion.
